Spring 2025 Course Highlight
Cultures of Europe - Register now!
Course description: This course explores how European communities are facing critical challenges such as migration, human rights, climate change and globalization. Students will use anthropological concepts and ethnographic accounts of European countries to learn about our interconnected and globalized world. Students will view countries with the lens of intersectionality to understand how race, class, sexuality, age, sex, ethnicity, origin, ability and gender impact contemporary coexistence. These accounts will allow students to reflect on how the region's diversity of gender systems, histories, nationalities, languages, religious, ethnic identities and urban or rural origins are articulated in everyday life, as well as to help bridge cultural gaps and foster mutual understanding.
