About
Dr. Jackson Soller is a sociologist and criminologist who investigates how economic, political, and gender stratified contexts influence wellbeing, especially among women. Her work includes quantitative and qualitative research methods, academic writing and publishing, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and teaching courses in sociology and criminology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is the Associate Director of the Center for Social Science Scholarship and Associate Professor of Sociology, Anthropology, and Public Health with an affiliate appointment in the Department of Gender, Women's, + Sexualities Studies. Dr. Jackson Soller is an active member of the American Sociological Association and the American Society of Criminology.
Research Interests
Dr. Jackson Soller’s scholarship centers on how economic, political, and gender stratified contexts influence wellbeing, especially among women. She studies various social phenomena related to punishment; (intimate partner) violence; sexual assault; abortion; and the neighborhood context of (adolescent) crime, health, and risk behaviors. Her research involves the use of statistical analysis, and qualitative content and discourse analysis of legislation.

Dr. Jackson Soller's teaching interests include criminology, law and society, political sociology, and social scientific methods.
