Please Help Support UMB-UMBC Gerontology Doctoral Students!
Funds given to this campaign will be used to support students’ conference travels and other research funding. Attendance at professional conferences is an essential part of the doctoral training. Due to recent funding cuts, the UMB-UMBC Gerontology Doctoral Program has very limited funds for students support this year.
In November, the largest gerontology conference, the 2025 Gerontological Society of America (GSA) meeting, takes place in Boston, Massachusetts. Your support will directly impact students’ ability to attend and their professional development.
Estimated cost of the 2025 GSA meeting attendance:
- Abstract submission fee $30
- GSA student membership $99
- Student conference registration $215
- Airfare/transportation (BWI – BOS) $250
- Hotel/shared housing $200/night
- Daily cost of meals $60
