About

Joined UMBC faculty in 2007. Previously a researcher at NHGRI, Johns Hopkins, IOM, and President's National Bioethics Advisory Commission. Expert in health disparities and social determinants of health; reproductive and genetics ethics; social and ethical issues related to mental health; childhood sexual abuse; and campus food insecurity. Has served in multiple leadership positions with national public health and bioethics organizations.

Research Interests

Mental health policy, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) as a social determinant of health, campus food insecurity; maternal mental health; reproductive health policy; genetics policy; ethics education at the undergraduate level
